Pokemon Leaf Green 0.1

Hello humans, it's been a while. I've been overwhelmed with life things recently but enough about that boring crap, here's some slightly different boring crap.

So as you probably know I'm working on a hack of Pokemon Leaf Green (and if you don't know; welcome, it must be your first time here, you poor, poor soul), the hack is shaping up pretty nicely in some respects however when it comes to creating new and unique areas I suck, big time. Now don't get me wrong I can map just fine; in fact here's part of Pallet Meadow, an area just East of Pallet Town which will include special things...

The problem arises when I try to insert this new map into the ROM, I did it once alright but now I seem to keep messing up even to the point of destroying the ROM header on many occasions. This of course means that there are a number of buildings and caves which can't actually be entered because I keep cocking up the maps these things are meant to point to, and it also means I've got a bit of reading to do in order to make something which isn't just Leaf Green touched up a bit (not in that way you sick person). Until such a point comes along however I have decided to throw out the ROM in it's current state for you to peruse, enthuse, and hopefully not snooze over.

Let the adventure begin (an emulator is of course needed to open the file, VisualBoy Advance is a good one)

Quick note on some of the features:
  • Over 350 Pokémon available (with more on the way)
  • The starters are Spheal, Trapinch, and Aron
  • Pokemon from the first three Generations are available to catch from the start
  • The first three groups of starters are can be found in the wild
  • Mew can be found and caught in one specific location (good hunting)
  • The area near Mew has two hidden items which will allow you to acquire a further three legendaries
  • Most routes and settlements have been given slight overhauls, making them a bit more pretty while allowing for further Pokemon to be obtained as well as making certain areas trickier

This is of course in no way complete, and there may be parts which I've messed up a bit. I particularly seem to forget to change movement permissions so that even though a ledge may be gone you hit an invisible wall (this has also had the fun effect of granting the player the power to walk through newly placed trees and mountains). So if you do find anything stupidly wrong do let me know.

Well thanks for reading this far, see you in the future humans.
