Hello humans, as some of you may know I've been working on a little Pokemon hack so I decided to take this opportunity to share some of my progress on this project. The following are comparisons of a few early areas in the game; how they originally looked followed by my adjustments.
Route 1:
Along with the cosmetic changes, there are a number of 'new' Pokemon to be caught from the get go including: Zigzagoon, Spinda, and Spearow.
Viridian City:
One of my ideas is to have a new area East of Route 1, probably called Pallet or Viridian Meadow, an entrance to this new area can be seen on the right. The purpose of this new location however shall remain a mystery for now.
Given that I want all Pokemon to be obtainable in the game I've taken to adding Pokemon catching opportunities into more locations, here you can now find Pokemon such as: Skitty, Lotad, Shroomish, Oddish, and Nidoran (both sexes).
Route 4:
I really like this route and Mt. Moon, but I'm only going to show off this bit for now. As you can see the route has been simplified a little with easy access being provided from Cerulean back towards Pewter.
New Pokemon include: Numel, Machop, and Surskit.
Cerulean City:
Carrying directly on from Route 4, this city has been simplified slightly as well, I removed the house to the North East as I felt it served no real purpose and even made it possible to bypass the city and head straight for Vermilion, if you so wish.
There are of course Pokemon to be found in the bordering grass as well but I'll leave that as a surprise, I shouldn't spoil everything really should I? One last thing I will say though is that the starter Pokemon are different, the compliment each other nicely but are not Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, they aren't even grass, fire and water. I'll let you contemplate what kind of mess I may have created with this change.
See you in the future humans.
